The announcement follows official Notice of Publication of Application by the USPTO to CastNet’s patent attorneys.
“Publication is a major milestone along the path to a non-provisional patent being issued,” noted Co-Founder and President Greg Franklin. He continued, “we are incredibly proud of our engineering team for reaching this goal.”
CastNet’s patent application, “System and Method for Detecting Rogue Devices and Implementing Security Measures on a Communications Network,” is now viewable by the public on the USPTO website. The patent defines a method for detecting, classifying, and alerting on devices discovered by a CastNet Sensor. The Sensor conveys information to a web application Command Center. Alerting can be for unknown, known, suspicious, or malicious devices discovered by the system.
